Resolutions Revisited

If you remember I decided to do quarterly goals this year instead of whole year resolutions.  YOu can see my post about it here.

Goal 1: Yeah, house cleaning continues to be the area where I procrastinate in order to find more time for other things.  We have been getting our house ready to sell, so this will become really important as we have showings.

Revised Goal: One major deep clean to prepare for showings and then a daily schedule of what to keep up with each day.

Goal 2: Prepping the house for sale had really helped me accomplish my goal to purge.  I've been going through each room with keep, sell, and donate boxes.  I have gotten rid of a lot of stuff into my sell and donate boxes.  Bonus-we won't have to move all that crap.

New goal: Have a garage/moving sale to get all the for sale stuff out.  List the more desirable things on craigslist to get a little more out of them.  Haul all the donation stuff to good will.

Goal 3: Home repairs...let's see, we have gotten new siding, our front porch fixed, the exterior painted, new carpet and a leak fixed in our tub.  Still on our list is get the hardwood refinished and some landscaping done.  Then we are ready to list.

Goal 4: Train for another half marathon.  Honestly, the time commitment for this is just not there with everything else we have going on.  I did sign up for some training runs, and ran a 10k with a new personal record.  I have a 15k race scheduled for April, but might switch to the 10k and shoot for another PR because I don't know that I have the time to build back up to 9 miles before then.  All in all I have kept up with my goal to continue running, even if it's not with a half in mind.

So far not a bad quarter of a year.  Along with the two goals I listed already, here are my new goals for the next three months.

Make plans to keep Harper entertained and educated throughout the summer.  I like to keep her home with me a lot, but with her moving to the preschool room soon, I don't want her to lost momentum with the curriculum they have.  But I also want to just have fun.  So the goal will be balance.  The teacher in me has a hard time not trying to make a lesson out of everything and just letting her learn while she plays.

Find a new home.  Assuming our home sells as quickly as we predict, we're looking at having to rent for awhile.  We don't want to rush our purchase because this is where we will be living for the next 20-30 years.  We want to make sure it's exactly what we want, where we want it.  So I might not even be able to accomplish this goal by the end of June, but I want to make sure I'm putting forth a good effort.

Those goals along with finishing another school year strong should keep me quite busy.  See you in June for another update.
